TAURAMA Adventist Student Association (TASA) who have been assigned to lead the PNG ATSA health team are confident and well ahead of preparations to conduct necessary medical assistance in Koira village, Northern Province.
The President of TASA Nahano Bernard said the team’s medical ministry to Koira cover basic medical treatment as well as educating the community on simple health remedies, which will help them apply and practice when in times of emergency.
He pointed out, their main goal is to look at preventative measures which they will also be rolling out a research program in the village and present to the Popendetta Hospital for further review.
This will help bring better health approach and services to the village people.
“We want to focus on the common illness and diseases that are affecting the people there,” Mr. Bernard said.
Part of their mini clinic, will be special dental check-ups with consultation where villagers will have the opportunity query on any health issues that concerned them.
He also mentioned that the health team will also roll out first aid training, to assist the community when faced with health emergencies.
Bernard said that they are confident and persistent to rolling out this project as they are determined for providing vital health assistance to the community.
“Although, it is a very expensive exercise to have a high financial budget to have this health ministry rolled out, we are certain and have confidence and trust that this will surely eventuate”, he stated.
