PNG Censorship office launches new corporate uniform

By JOE GURINA

THE Office of Censorship is adamant to uplift and uphold the integrity to the service it provides following a significant launch of its new office corporate wares last week.

The launching of the office wares caps a significant approach that the organization has undertaken with its commitment following the Public Service Prayer Dedication Service on Monday, Jan 18.

Chairperson of the Censorship Board Karen Haive challenged the staff to take pride and appreciate their new uniforms that will motivate their efforts towards their work.

She said the new look approach will set the standard and in most facet seek God’s wisdom and knowledge to deliver in their respective duties.

Ms Haive said with the new attire and team spirit bonded together, this should motivate staff to be effective in performing their duties.

She added that one of the other vital tasks that the office needed to address was to control internet access by children and teenagers under the age of 20 years.

“Our children are busy with technology and we don’t know what our children are watching. It is a big concern that this office plays a very important part to address this issue.  So we need to partner with churches and commit our self to address this issue.

“I am doing a letter now to the state solicitor to seek legal advice to get court order on banning some of the internet sites,’’ she said.

“So with the new attire, new team spirit, we have to address this issue,’’ she said.

Chief Censor Jim Abani said that the occasion of the launch was small but of significance connecting to the public service prayer dedication service that the office attended.

He said he was surprised but proud to hear many heads of the department commend the new look of the Censorship Office with its new attire.

“From the Public Service Minister’s speech which I have taken note of is to conduct professionalism at our work place. By way of doing that, with the new look wares, this is one way that will motivate us to perform our duties and responsibilities with commitment and dedication,” she said.

The female officers from the Censorship office were given the honor to welcome the invited dignitaries including the 9th Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea James Marape to the podium during the Public Service Prayer Dedication Service because of their new attire worn on the occasion.
