“IN light of reports that have been circulated via social media, I wish to unequivocally state that PNGDF personnel have not been without food for six months. It is a totally misleading statement”, Chief of Defence Force Rear Admiral Philip Polewara said.

Messing arrangements and catering facilities of units only serve single living-in members of the force and they have been put on alternative catering plan since 17th March 2025, and all operations are sustained and active.

Welfare of the soldiers, including catering, are the highest priority of the HQPNGDF.

Hence it is handling the catering issue in collaboration with relevant government agencies. HQPNGDF is not ignorant nor turning a blind eye on the catering issue.

“We are managing that well whilst maintaining focus on our Constitutionally mandated tasks”, said Chief of Defence Force Rear Admiral Philip Polewara.

“I urge the public and the media to seek out facts to communicate accurate information”.
