The Papua New Guinea Forest Authority (PNGFA) has launched its new website and communication, knowledge management, and visibility strategy.

The website is designed to modernize information dissemination, improve access to forest-sector data, and enhance public engagement and the communication, knowledge management, and visibility strategy provides a strategic framework for internal and external communication, knowledge sharing, institutional visibility, and stakeholder relations.

PNGFA Managing Director John Mosoro said we are launching a new digital front door for one of our nation’s most crucial resources that you know, our forest resource, and the people who own that resource.

“When you have communication development strategy connects the diversity that also takes care of people in the rural areas, they understand fully what we talk about, forest conservation, biodiversity and putting value to offer us.

“For too long, the narratives of the forest have been dominated by all issues.

“As an authority, we are committed, committed to changing the narratives by putting transparency, accessibility, visibility, and accountability at the very heart of our operations,” managing director Mosoro said.

He added that this new website is the digital embodiment of the commitment in the ICT, but this platform will serve as the single resource of information for everyone to all our stakeholders, stakeholders seeking information, and for the industry partners, and for those who seek compliance for the research, who are keen to know our forest and for our biodiversity, can research through the use of this website.

“This website stands as a testimony to the power of global cooperation achieving national development goals,” Mr Mosoro said.

EU-Forestry Climate Change and Biodiversity project manager Alaric Vandenberghe emphasised the importance of the launching of the PNGFA website and CKMV strategy.

“This website launched and has part of it also associated with this communication, knowledge management visibility strategy, which is a very structured and forward-looking framework to guide how PNGFA communicates, manages its institutional knowledge and position itself nationally and internationally,” Mr Vandenberghe said.
