THE PNG Kickboxing Federation (PNGKBF) has recognized four provincial clubs to be affiliated with the federation.
In a small but significant event in Port Moresby yesterday, President of the Oceania and PNGKBF, Mr Standley Nandex, presented certificates of affiliation to the four provincial clubs.
“Today (yesterday) we had a small presentation for four provinces,” Nadex said.
“That means we need to satisfy them, by giving those affiliation certificates,” he said.
While presenting the certificates to the clubs, Nadex highlighted their commitment to the sport.
He said the four provinces have had their fighters participated in the recently ended Last Man Standing kickboxing event in Port Moresby.
The four provinces that were recognized include; Hela, East New Britian, Southern Highlands and Western Highlands.
During the Last Man Standing kickboxing event, Jugari Agio and Joel Embel from team Hela, Vincent Toliman from Mataungan Kickboxing Club in East New Britain, Ali Takon from Southern Highlands Kickboxing Club and Gilbert Kay from Lingstan Kickboxing club in Western Highlands were participated.
Stanley Nandex highlighted that the affiliation will help the affiliated clubs and the federation to work collaboratively for the smooth running of the clubs in each province.
He said there had been associations established in several provinces, however, due to some issues in the clubs, they could not progress in the code.
Nadex is now directly allowing clubs under the associations to affiliate directly with PNGKBF for a smooth running of the program.
“While waiting for associations to get themselves organized, it is better to continue also with the clubs that we have allowed to affiliate to the federations,” Nandex said.
