GRADE 12 students have been advised to do necessary changes to their online choices before the grace period elapses.
Department of Higher Education, Research Science and Technology (DHERST) Acting Secretary, Dr Francis Hualupmomi said Grade 12 students will be given a grace period to do changes to their online choices after they see their national examination results.
“Selection is going smoothly and many of our staff are in all the provinces assisting students to use the application to apply online. So, by the end of this week, they should complete the process and we have given students grace period which will start on the 9th to 15th of December,” Dr Hualupmomi explained.
“So, this (9th to 15th December) is a window period, student by then will receive their results and should be able to make changes to their initial choices. After 15th, grace period will close.”
He added that when the online choices started in 2017, there were faced with challenges but over time, they managed it properly.
Dr Hualupmomi said there’s a good rate of students applying online.
“We didn’t experience many of these challenges now, because our staff have been going out and assisting students to use the new application so this year, we didn’t face any problems. It’s just those minor problems with connectivity, especially in remote areas,” he said.
“We have about 90% of students filling up the application and that’s the beauty of it, despite our challenges. We have a very good rate of student’s application.”
