THE alternate government band of leaders have come together in a media conference at Crown Hotel today to unveil their core alternate policies.
The leaders were led by Leader of the Opposition, Douglas Tomuriesa and Alternate Prime Minister nominee, Hon. Rainbo Paita.
Other senior parliamentarians also graced the atmosphere, displaying their solid moral and physical support towards changing the current government.
Speaking on the alternate government’s policies, Mr Tomuriesa announced that an alternate policy plan has been documented, comprising mostly of alternate solutions to the current issues that the government lacks the capability of addressing.
According to the Opposition Leader, the Alternate Government team believes the alternate policies will rescue Papua New Guinea from the current crisis and instability in various forms that the nation is experiencing.
He explained that the Opposition’s Alternate Policy framework was compiled over a period of six months, and aims at restoring the dignity and confidence of the people and private sectors in PNG.
“We see this Alternate Policy Plan as the only viable path to set Papua New Guinea on a new trajectory of development,” said Mr Tomuriesa.
The Opposition claims that Papua New Guinea needs an uncompromising reset, in order to alleviate petty issues that are contributing towards the nation’s regression from its former state.
“We have undertaken a detailed review of all current policies, legislative and institutional structures, as well as comprehensive diagnosis of the prevailing state of affairs.”
While commending the collaborative efforts of the policy developers and opposition’s technical team, Alternate Prime Minister nominee, Hon. Rainbo Paita said the Alternate Policy Plan is the result of an exhaustive review, which outlines that the alternate government will take immediate action, as an effective government.
“The fourteen (14) alternate policies in this document have all the solutions to what the country is going through, and I believe that this nation will be heading in a new direction, as we aim to restore back the trust and confidence of our people,” said Paita.
The fourteen alternate policies of the Opposition underscore a foundational aim and focus of resetting Papua New Guinea.
