PEC25 to strengthen future national growth in oil, gas sector

The PNG Petroleum and Energy Conference 2025 (PEC25), the leading annual forum that brings together business representatives with the government leaders to chart the forward direction of this vital sector, takes place on Wednesday and Thursday (October 8/9) at the Stanley Hotel in Waigani, NCD.

Hosted by Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL), discussion at PEC25 will be led by Petroleum Minister Jimmy Maladina on Wednesday, and Energy Minister Peter Namea Isoaimo on Thursday.

Minister Maladina said this year’s conference is particularly important with the theme being ‘The Next 50.’

“As we celebrate our Nation’s Golden Jubilee, the focus will be on the on the potential and pivotal opportunities of the petroleum and energy sector.

“The program is designed to look forward, focusing on how petroleum and energy can drive growth, innovation and sustainable development over the next half century.

“The conference is well established with senior industry representatives attending from around the world with an interest in the PNG resources sector.

“From a petroleum sector perspective, highlighting stability and future prospects is particularly important for PEC25.”

Minister Isoaimo highlighted the importance of transforming PNG’s resources not only for export, but building sustainable opportunities to expand access to energy around the nation.

“As more people and businesses have access to increased and stable energy supplies, we strengthen and build resilience in our communities.

“Through the right balance of renewable and traditional energy generation, we move the country forward.

“PEC25 provides the forum for collaboration to generate further investment and action in energy production and distribution.”

With over 80 exhibitors confirmed, PEC25 provides a forum for business to be done in PNG for PNG.

From the exhibition halls to the conference sessions, delegates will have the rare opportunity to directly connect with decision-makers and industry leaders who are shaping PNG’s energy future.
