PRIME Minister Hon James Marape, has extended condolence on behalf of the people of Papua New Guinea to the people of South Korea at the loss of lives during the Halloween event stampede in Itaewon over the weekend.
Prime Minister Marape said losing a loved one unexpectedly during a time of celebration is heart rending.
“Our thoughts and prayers for peace in the hearts of those affected is with you,” the Prime Minister said.
He assures Papua New Guineans who may be affected or who may have loved ones affected by the event that the Papua New Guinea Embassy in Seoul will work with authorities in Seoul and relay information back home should further assistance be needed.
More than 100 people have died of cardiac arrest when the halloween crowd had been tightly crowded in a narrow space in an alley and the death toll is expected to rise.
