PNG RESOURCES WEEK STARTS

THE 2024 PNG Resources Week began with an expected attendance of over 800 participants, including representatives from government, policymakers, business houses, landowner companies, and a large number of landowner groups from project areas.

The event, themed “Building on our Legacy: PNG Resources and Energy,” promises to be a dynamic and enriching experience for all attendees.

Vice-Chancellor of UPNG, Professor Cecilia Nembou, opened Session 1 on Monday, at UPNG, Port Moresby, followed by opening remarks and scene-setting from PNG CORE President, Anthony Smaré. Prime Minister James Marape then delivered his address on national content.

Today marks day two, featuring discussions on the mining sector. Presentations from Santos, OTML, and the PNG Chamber of Resources and Energy provided valuable insights into their operations within the industry.
