He said the initial funding to that road worth K6 million was diverted elsewhere and he raised the matter on the floor of parliament in the previous term of parliament.

Isoaimo told Sunday Bulletin, he was content with the new Minister’s active respond to this particular road that he took up with him two weekends ago.

‘’I am glad our good lady Governor has continued to keep reminding the Minister responsible for roads to approve funding maintenance on this road.

He also thanked the Governor to approve the old Hiritano Highway maintenance which was left unattended to by the previous regime.

He said he did previous visits on the old highway and even addressed it on the previous floor of the assembly but never got appropriated for funding.

He said he is happy that a Governor is now addressing issues of concerns for the province which road is of significant importance.

Meanwhile, Peter said the upgrading of the roading infrastructures would enable Central people living in the city to travel home in some comfort to enjoy their Christmas holidays.
