The NSW Blues became dominant in Game ll of the Ampol State of Origin series at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia, after a 38 – 18 win over QLD.
A huge night of Origin – despite a weaker second half, NSW’s first half was so incredibly dominant that they set up a win and sent the match to a decider in Brisbane in three weeks.
In front of a massive 90,084 supporters at the MCG, the Blues were flawless in the first half, flying out of the blocks to score six (6) tries in the most dominant opening 40 minutes in Origin history.
Parramatta Eels’ Mitchell Moses’ outstanding performance earned him player of the match as Latrell Mitchell’s Origin return was outstanding through his hard defense, try assists, line breaks, offloads and a try.
With the two sides at 12 men each in second half, QLD managed to put some plays together and scored through Nanai and Tabuai Fidow.
Dylan Edwards on his debut scored a try through a magical Moses Pass after denying his Origin debut on game l due to injury.
Taulagi added another consolation score later on, but long before that the Maroons knew they were already beaten and could only focus on a Game lll decider back home in Brisbane.
The Decider will be staged at Suncorp Stadium in three (3) weeks’ time.
