POLICE in Lae recently uncovered a major organise crime network in the country after intercepting a container of fake Waswas soap bound for the lucrative highlands market.
It is believed the manufacturing and products of fake products expand beyond the waswas soap.
Potential suspects involved (name withheld) are allege to have links to have networks in Government Department and enforcement authorities and operated chain of retail, whole sale, security contracts, chain of night clubs in Lae and Port Moresby.
Many in the intelligence and enforcement fraternity call this are big break through in uncovering Asian organise crimes in PNG.
Several investigative journalist have being tracking and monitoring the movements of the suspects for some time and it’s links to several Government departments in Lands, NHC, Immigration and others.
Media is now ready and awaits the outcome of the investigation and possible arrest by Lae Metropolitan Police Command.
