An application was filed by the police prosecutions to revoke bail for a businessman involved in alleged unlawful use of firearms.

Police prosecutor First Constable Azariah Tau informed the court that an application was filed by the Prosecutions to revoke bail for suspect Benjamin Ekip allegeing that Suspect did not follow proper bail process.

Benjamin Ekip from Western Highlands, a businessman was slapped with double firearm charges following an incident on July 26,2025 at Ela Beach Hotel where Suspect allegedly assaulted Managing Director of Kana Construction Roxon Undi and threatened to shoot Mr Undi with a factory-made pistol.

Ekip was arrested and charged on unlawful use of firearms in public place whilst under the influence of alcohol and threatening to discharge a firearm.

He was due for formally arraignment but failed to turn up in court today.

Her worship Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Tracy Ganai has set down the hearing of the application to tomorrow Thursday, 7, 2025 at 1:30pm.

Additional charges are expected to be laid against Ekip as investigation continues.
