AN MP does not have to be a Minister to change Papua New Guinea, says Prime Minister James Marape.
He said an ordinary MP could transform PNG for the better if he or she put ‘200%’ effort into their job.
“You do not have to be a Minister to reconstruct and build a better PNG; your role as MP, if utilized 200% can change our country,” he said.
This was Marape’s message to all MPs as he prepares to announce his full Cabinet on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
“As I settle with who to fill in Cabinet and vice-ministry positions on Tuesday, I will not be able to satisfy all of you, so I beg your understanding and I will do my best to ensure that your role as MP is well supported,” he said.
Meanwhile, a week-long Parliament induction of new MPs will start tomorrow.
