A TOTAL of six vice ministers under Marape-Basil government were sworn-in at the Government House by Governor General Sir Bob Dadae this afternoon.

The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister James Marape and Member for Aitape-Lumi, Patrick Pruaitch.

Those that were sworn-in includes; Bougainville Regional MP Peter Tsiamalili Jnr, Kairuku MP Peter Isoaimo, Kokopo MP Emil Tammur, Raicoast MP Peter Sapia, Ijivitari MP Richard Masere and Angoram MP Sailo Waipo.

Tsiamalili was sworn-in as Vice Minister for Bougainville Affairs, Isoaimo as Vice Minister for Treasury, Masere as Vice Minister assisting Prime Minister on Foreign Investments, Waipo as Vice Minister for Public Service, Tammur as Vice Minister for National Planning, and Sapia as Vice Minister for Mining.

PM Marape said the swearing-in of these vice ministers now completes the eleven (11) vice ministries capacity in Marape-Basil government.

“They will work back-to-back with Ministers to ensure key government programs are not stopped as well as to allow for the government’s focus to be on run,” the Prime Minister said.

PM Marape also stated that there will not be any cabinet reshuffles from now on wards but if there is any, then it would be determined by performance base.

“We now facing two years of being in office so tomorrow we will be having a cabinet to ask all the ministers to furnish reports of work they have done over the last two years and assess where we are.”
