POREBADA community is set to complete their census counting soon, with only one last area yet to be counted.
In 2011, Porebada recorded a population of 6,000, which could see a significant change after 13 years.
Hiri LLG Coordinator Mr Baru Morea said that Porebada has two supervisors with eight teams.
“We divided the village into East and West Porebada, each with a dedicated supervisor. We also have two tablets, which the supervisors are currently using,” Mr. Morea said.
“Each team is allocated a specific area of the village, and right now we are just waiting to collect data from the high school.
“We have advised all teams to revisit their workloads to ensure they have collected data appropriately and accurately, especially the code numbers.”
Mr. Morea noted the importance of properly following the process to the supervisors and enumerators.
Executive Officer to the National Statistician Mr Jimmy Waigi applauded the people of Porebada, their leaders, and the enumerators for their undivided effort in carrying out the census.
“It is for the business of development and services in your community. You are doing this to help your government and yourselves so that you receive services based on the information collected,” Mr. Waigi said.
