The competition was launched last night at the Sir John Guise Stadium indoor complex in Port Moresby.

The competition coinciding with the 2025 country’s golden jubilee will feature eight man and six women teams and will run parallel with the Golden oldies competition involving former athletes.

Yesterday was awesome with crowds cheering the Prime Minister’s team (Team Prime Minister) going up against Moi Mori’s team (Legends) in an entertaining exhibition match.

Prime Minister James Marape launched the competition with the awareness message of “your health is your wealth” which depicts a healthy way of life through exercises such as sports and a way of combatting lifestyle diseases.

NCD Governor Powes Pakop also shared the same sentiments while acknowledging Prime minister and other department heads who were part of the event.

The competition will run through to September and the finals are expected to fall with the commemoration of the country’s Golden jubilee.
