PROSECUTION OFFICE AT BOROKO CLOSED FOR INDEFINITE PERIOD FOR RENOVATION

THE Police prosecutors’ office located at Boroko Police Station will be closed indefinitely due to maintenance currently going on at the office space.

National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika confirmed that the prosecutors are now based at Morata Haus at Waigani.  He said they would be operating there during the office maintenance.

“ I am calling on defendants who had been formally arrested and charged to communicate with your arresting officer so they will inform you when your court dates will be. The arresting officers must also maintain communication with your defendants and the prosecutor that will be presenting your case in court so the three of you are informed of what is going on, Sika said.

Metsupt Sika said many people who had been arrested and charged were again arrested using warrants of arrest because there was no proper communication between the arresting officers, the prosecutors and the defendants.

He said with the situation at hand it is important for them all to communicate to make sure the defendants appear in court. He said the prosecutors will be operating from Morata Haus second floor.
