PUBLIC Servant Netball Association (PSNA) appreciate Nambawan Trophy Limited for K30, 000 sponsorship that will assist in the operations of the tournament.
PSNA president Maria Laka said their competition has been going on for almost 30 years and the sponsorship is one of the big achievements for the association.
“Our operations have been from affiliation (fees), player registration and the gate takings. Those are the four revenues of our association and with this sponsorship, it will definitely make a difference for our association going forward,” Laka said.
PSNA consists of women from different government departments that take time out from work to share their interest in the code of netball together as well as strengthen ties and broadening their network.
This year’s competition is into its knock out stage and will see teams put out their best to stay in the game to reach grand final in three weeks’ time at Rita Flynn complex in Port Moresby.
The competition consists of eight divisions with its premier division at the top in terms of competitiveness where the winners of the yearly competitions are promoted to the next level while the bottom teams are relegated.
The season will again resume after the grand final in October 2023 and the organisers are also calling on interested departments, especially women to register a team and be part of a heathy life style through sports.
President Laka said PSNA is one of the events that brings family together to enjoy their weekend after long working week and there are now looking at going bigger and beyond Port Moresby to be part of other such competitions around the country.
