Radio station staff tested Covid-19 positive

KUMUL Telikom Holdings Limited (KTHL) boss has confirmed 20 staff of a radio station, FM 100, trading under Kalang Advertising Ltd tested positive with Covid-19.

Acting director for KTHL Jessie Wangua confirmed this in a media statement today said they have under gone immediate isolation including all persons of interest.

Wangua said the positive cases in the FM 100 office have caused misunderstanding amongst the staff for the risks it might have on their health and their jobs. There are also reported threats made against staff that have been tested positive with the virus.

 “On behalf of the Board and Management of KTHL, I would like to inform the general public and address this to all my valuable staff of Kalang Advertising Limited on the agreed ways forward in addressing health concerns raised by staff of Kalang Advertising Limited, in regards to the COVID-19 reported cases at their place of work,” said Wangua.

He further assured the employees and the general public that precautionary actions have already been taken to prevent confusion and minimize the risks exposer to the employee’s health and welfare.

According to Wangua plans have been developed for internal operation with reduced staff numbers and arrangement for shift rotation. This will not affect any salary of the staff whether found to be Covid-19 positive or not and no disciplinary action will be taken against any staff regarding this Covid-19 matter.

The FM100 office shut down today to allow full sanitization and fumigation exercise. The normal operations will resume tomorrow after 24 hours.

Kalang Advertising Limited is a subsidiary of KTHL.
