SHP PUBLIC SERVICE GETS 12 NEW VEHICLES

(Mendi,SHP)

Southern Highlands Provincial Government has purchased twelve (12) new vehicles for all divisions in the public service sector for the province. Official presentations were done at the Mendi Police Station on Wednesday 16th October.

This timely action was purposely aimed at reviving the public service, after going through a mega breakdown after the 2022 National General Elections, which resulted in political mayhem all throughout the province.

Governor for Southern Highlands Province Hon. William Powi was present to officiate this significant ceremony together with the acting provincial administrator David Kelma and other key divisional heads in the province from all electorates.

Governor Powi mentioned that the province needs a hard reset in its functions and so, this is a first-hand approach to tighten public service’s operations throughout the province.

“I am here as a mandated leader of the province to address issues and rescue SHP from being dormant, as two of my terms were wasted on court petitions.”

Powi urged all divisional heads to resume official duties and also encouraged a strong collaboration from the people with the provincial government in order to see growth and progress in all aspects of development.

Acting Provincial Administrator David Kelma also urged the people to look after government services, in order to attract more developments in the province.

The new vehicles presented were then distributed to key public service sectors in all the districts of Southern Highlands Province.
