FORMER Prime Minister and New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan (pictured) issued the challenge on Friday Jan 15 during the occasion of the grand opening of the new Belik United Church building.
He congratulated the Namatanai Open MP Walter Schnaubelt who was also present during the occasion for his elevation as the Forest Minister.
“I think it is timely now that yumi olgeta recognizim olsem memba bilong Namatanai em Forest Minister. Em bai helpim me fight against illegal logging. Let’s takeback New Ireland together,” said Sir J.
He congratulated the people of Belik on the completion of their church building and left the occasion earlier to attend another event at Pire village in Namatanai.
