MEMBER for Kerowagi Hon. Francis Kikin Siune and member for Wewak Hon. Stanley Muts Samban were sworn in earlier today as vice ministers for Public Service and Defence by the Marape-Rosso Government at the Government House.
Their appointments as ministers adds the tally to total of 11 vice ministers so far appointed through the Marape- Government.
Prime Minister Hon. James Marape announced, the newly appointed vice ministers will work closely with Minister Joe Sungi and Minister Billy Joseph overseeing in the respective ministries.
PM Marape revealed, his government is adamant about enhancing service delivery through targeted supported in key areas of the government and appointment of vice ministers is a catalyst to bring achieving those goals.
“These two gentlemen are selected on merit and experience and we place our trust and confidence in them to support the respective ministers of state accordingly in these important times our country’s history and development,” Prime Minister Marape outlined in his remarks at the government house today in Port Moresby.
He highlighted the importance of responsibility played in the two ministries and huge amount of task to be performed that means a lot for the country and having appointed the two vice ministers is path towards having better and effective coordination in terms of service delivery and discipline promoted.
Prime Minister elaborated further saying, he aims for efficient public service sector especially at this time where the country moves into its 50th Independence anniversary.
“The PNG Public Service machinery is where government operations happen and we are working to address some legacy issues to ensure an effective public service for our country, PM Marape explained.
