OVER 70 youths from Hohola SDA church received their certificates today after successfully completing a one-week training conducted by the St. John Ambulance on first aid response skills attending to emergencies.
During a little graduation ceremony held at the Hohola SDA Church, Program Manager of St. John Ambulance Zoe Saulep conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for the youths who had willingly expressed to take such training in helping to extend the work they do in and around the city.
“We want to see the impact, the skills you attained today use it to help someone when in need and that makes us proud,” Ms. Saulep encouraged the youths.
“It’s your confidence that is going to lead you to utilizing those skills learnt, and actually attending to someone who is in need of emergency assistance”.
The training conducted is part of their Master Guide honors and was great input to see youths taking part in the training which is a skill they can take with them and become a life saver and testimony to their communities.
Youth leader of Hohola SDA church, Mr. Roa Kila shared; it is the first of its kind having to collaborate with the St. John Ambulance to conduct such important training.
He acknowledged the professional trainers of Port Moresby St. John Ambulance who took time to mentor the youths with their expertise and valuable insights in equipping youths with knowledge in community saving lives.
Program Manager Ms. Saulep expressed, they hope to see more of the training happen and wish to extend the partnership to other churches in the future.
