Theodist Ltd has presented a cheque of K25,000 sponsorship to Life Care PNG to support the “Strongim Pikinini Programme.”
The cheque was presented by Theodist’s CEO Kumar Baliah, Ryan Pini (Business Development Manager), Kevin Anderson (National Sales & Marketing Manager), to Life Care PNG founder and Director Collin Pake.
Life Care PNG is a small organization that focuses on impacting unfortunate children through education. Over an estimated of a million children all over the country are out of schools and Life Care PNG together with the partnership of Theodist has worked together in the past six years to support those children through education, food and shelter.
Life Care PNG has made such a positive impact in communities in Port Moresby and certain parts of PNG by providing for almost 600 children who are unfortunate. “Education is one of the key to the future of Papua New Guinea,” Mr Pini said.
He also said: “Theodist has been supporting and donating to Life Care PNG for over six years and will continue to support as we believe that it is a valuable contribution to the community in providing education, food and shelter for these children.
Mr Pake acknowledged the support Theodist provided to them to help the children. He said so far they have managed to send 12 students to tertiary institution.
Mr Pake has dedicated his life to give the under privileged children between the ages of 6 years old to 18 years a second chance to better education, shelter and food.
He also stated that Theodist has not only donated but also made an attempt to go down to visit them and the work that they do.
“For them is not just about writing a check, but also to spent their time in volunteering and also give back to the community,” he added.
Lack of proper education is a big concern for this country and for Theodist to partner up with Life Care PNG has also made an impact in solving some of these issues. So far Life Care PNG’s first pioneer student who was given a chance 10 years ago is a boy from Goilala who has graduated in a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and now being currently employed. Today 12 others are attending tertiary institution under the Strongim Pikinini Education Program. The Strongim Pikinini Program is not just about receiving donations but is also about valuing these lives and seeing the progression of stages in education. With the help of Theodist they have contributed to these children and the effect the children get will make a difference in their lives and the communities where they come from.
Mr. Pake has also appealed to the government to show support in this as he believes in a generational change and a key future of this nation and not children on the street fighting for a chance of survival.
