THREE members of the Police Media team have been officially sworn in as Senior Sergeants following the successful completion of a six-week induction training at the Bomana National Center of Excellence.

The newly promoted officers, Andrew Philip, Totona Kari, and Amlakwin Jessemie, received their Senior Sergeant ranks after undergoing intensive training on the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary’s (RPNGC) code of ethics, law enforcement skills, and other essential policing principles.

Director Training Mariah Johns, representing Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) – Training, Peter N’Dranou, presented their certificates and delivered the keynote speech during the short graduation ceremony.

“Throughout this program, you have undergone physical, theoretical, and police training. This training has prepared you not just to communicate on behalf of the Constabulary but to understand first-hand the duties, challenges, and sacrifices of a sworn police officer,” she said.

ACP N’Dranou emphasized that the officers now hold a dual responsibility as both sworn law enforcement officers and key communicators for the RPNGC.

“Now as uniformed officers, your role is twofold,” he stated. “You’re police officers upholding law and order, and you’re also the bridge between the RPNGC and the public, ensuring accurate, responsible, and transparent communication,” he said.

He urged them to wear their uniforms with pride and integrity, reminding them that their duty is to serve the Constabulary with honor while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
