TKATCHENKO LAUNCHES K9 MILLION RAGAMUGA ROAD PROJECT

MINISTER for Foreign Affairs and Member for Moresby South Hon. Justin Tkatchenko has launched a significant road project in the Saraga settlements in Port Moresby yesterday.

The Minister was accompanied by NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop, City Manager Ravu Frank, and New Guinea Engineering and Procurement Services Managing Director Emmanuel Aiyopi to officiate the event.

The 1.2km Ragamuga road project contract was awarded to New Guinea Engineering and Procurement Services Limited (NEPS) to commence work.

It is a design and construction project that is estimated to be completed within 12 months with a total budget allocation of K9 million.

This road will start at the Saraga Market outside six mile and cuts through to Kipo in East Boroko.

Tkatchenko said this project is the first phase of transforming settlements within Moresby South into suburbs.

“The Ragamuga road will enable key development agendas to flourish within this urban vicinity in the next few years,” he added.

The local MP emphasized about people taking ownership of such developments and embrace it to see change.

“Youths and the general community must take initiative to look after and cherish these developments as it will uplift your living standards.”

He further congratulated Managing Director for NEPS Mr. Emmanuel Aiyopi and urged him to deliver the project within scope duration and allocated budget.

NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop accompanied the local MP and Contractor to officiate the ground breaking ceremony right after the event formalities to mark the work commencement.
