GEORGE Pepa Kult and Prentice Kult were amongst the 66 graduands that graduated on Friday, Jan 23 from the Legal Training Institute IPA campus, Waigani, Port Moresby.
They will be part of the cohort to be admitted to the bar as lawyers of the National and Supreme Court for this legal year. The pair completed high school at the Port Moresby International School (POMIS); before securing places at the UPNG School of Law and finally on to the graduate program at the Legal Training Institute (LTI).
Younger brother George; 23 was also the DUX award recipient, finishing top of his class. When asked about his achievement and the constraints faced with COVID-19, he remarked, “it’s really not about the circumstances, but about how you as a person deal with it”.
Persevering through the constraints brought on by COVID-19 in the past year was one of the biggest challenges this class had to face; especially with class cancellations.
George said it made him really dig deep in to himself to see the year through and was satisfied with the results. Highlights of the year for him were the civil and criminal law workshops conducted by the local bar.
The LTI academic year officially came to a close except for the admission to the bar which will follow shortly.
The pair will join their sister Alison who is already a practitioner in the legal profession.
