THE University of Papua New Guinea East New Britain Students Association (UPNG-ENBSA) has received K290,000 in school fee assistance from East New Britain (ENB) Governor Michael Marum, benefiting 115 successful student applicants.

This marks the first time an ENB Governor has directly funded students’ school fees, providing much-needed relief to both students and parents.

The financial support represents a strategic investment by East New Britain Province in its human resource development.

Representatives from the Governor’s office, Mr. Isimel Marnapal and Mr. Michael Birau, formally presented the assistance to the students at UPNG yesterday.

During the presentation, Mr. Birau, the project coordinator in the Governor’s office, stated, “Human resources are the most valuable assets in any organization, and this assistance demonstrates the province’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and professionals.”

Four students spoke on behalf of the 115 recipients, expressing their gratitude to Governor Michael Marum and commending his initiative.

They described the support as a significant relief for their families and a positive step toward enhancing educational opportunities for students from East New Britain.
