The Aipinimanda-Wabag road link connects the Ambum LLG of the Kompiam Ambum District into Wabag town, which was initially built by the Wabag District Development Authority (WDDA) in 2018.
Project engineer Robin Pawa Wak highlighted that this 7.2 kilometers road project is one of many major initiatives funded by WDDA under the leadership of Wabag MP, Dr Lino Tom.
“So far, we’ve completed earthworks, clearing, grubbing, and graveling over 4.5 km from Wabag town to Aipinimanda village,” Mr Wak said.
He added that drainage work and pavement preparation will proceed ahead of sealing where necessary preparations are currently progressing well.
Dr Tom said the road would connect middle Ambum Valley with Wabag town to provide a shorter and convenient route.
He confirmed the road was one of the two road networks that would be fully sealed in this term of Parliament.
“It is one of two roads we will seal in this term. Road Access is the key to Development. Under the Wabag District Rural Road Network Program, we’re constructing a few strategic road links,” MP Lino said.
More than 20,000 people of the Malapins, Yakans, and Porelyiens from Ambum Valley in the Kompiam Ambum District are directly benefiting from this road project.
