THE twenty-four-year-old SP PNG Hunters Winger Solomon Wane is ready to face the Central Queensland Capras in Rockhampton, Queensland this Saturday.
Saturday’s game will be the second phase of the Hunters preseason and Wane’s fourth year of being in the squad.
He is confident in himself and the game that he loves playing.
“For me personally, coming to Hunters first phase is like a training and trial for me but as time goes by, I develop my skills and maturity into the game so I think I am doing well,” Wane said.
Like everyone else, his goal this season is to get the little things on and off field better first and play as many games as he can and continue to help the forwards and the team.
“The young boys who just joined are pretty much competitive.
“They asked a lot of questions to learn so we helped them.
“I think we are doing better so we look forward for a good season,” Wane said.
“It’s a team sport and not an individual sport so everyone has to do their work.
“As for myself, I have to do my part too and help the team win.
“I am looking forward for the trial match this Saturday.
“There are few PNG boys playing with the Capras and it’s always a tough match against them, but we’re looking forward to it.”
Wane is consistently working hard during trainings and hopes to join the boys in UK Super League if given the opportunity.
