THE people of Alotau will now take part in the beautiful sports of Soccer after Alotau Urban Soccer Association (AUSA) got register under Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) as a member association.
Alotau joins the football family following the swearing in of AUSA office bearers After Sandaun province as PNGFA increase its number of member associations to involve more people to take part in football around the country.
The inclusion of AUSA in the Milne Bay province is part of PNGFA president John Kapi Natto’s attempt to bring all the former member associations under one football fold.
PNGFA vice president (Southern region) Morea Vavine who witnessed the election of the new office bearers including the new president elect for AUSA Livinai Lepani is pleased with the process. Other members of the AUSA include Jefferey Feeger (Vice president) and Joshua Iseas (treasurer), Jonah Tuka (ordinary member) and Clemencia Dukaduka (Women representative).
Vavine commended PNGFA member association Manager Stanley Khanna for his time and hard work in bringing Alotau back into football family.
He said Alotau was part of PNGFA member association but was ousted due to not complying with certain affiliation requirements of PNGFA by former football administrations.
Kapi Natto urge the new member associations to strictly adhere to certainly compliance issues before they can become fulltime member.
Moreover Khanna is satisfied that Alotau is now member association and will deliberate to the PNGFA to give them a fulltime membership.
“Everyone must work together for the good of football and importantly, the executives mend up things together to meet the compliance requirement set by PNGFA in line with OFC/FIFA requirements,” said Khanna.
Meanwhile, Madang Soccer Association has spoken through the secret ballot electoral process to unanimously retain incumbent president Sigifred Bechsel for another four-year term.
