THE most anticipated and exciting cricket tournament in PNG, the Isuzu T20 smash was launched today (Thursday 04th April, 2025).
The launching is a partnership between Cricket PNG and Boroko Motors, who is also the proud sponsor of the Izusu T2O SMASH Tournament.
Boroko Motors, National sales and marketing manager, Donovan Brooks said, this collaboration marks another milestone in the journey for both cricket in Papua New Guinea and our continued support of cricket PNG who believe in the power of sport to inspire and unite communities.
“The T20 smash has become one of the most anticipated and exciting cricket tournaments in PNG, bringing together talented cricketers from across the nation.
Furthermore, this partnership will help in fostering the next generation of cricket’ stars by providing them with resources and the platform they need to excel.
He said, Boroko Motors has been a long respected leader in the automotive industry, and today we commit to being a key player to develop cricket as the cornerstone of the national sporting culture.
Cricket PNG CEO, Richard Done, thanked Boroko Motors for their continued support.
“The Izusu T20 smash is our premier domestic competition and it is the most important time for us to have these cricketers”.
Meanwhile he said, despite a few changes in the year’s teams competing for the tournament, we are excited, that we have had a really good corporation with the associations around PNG.
“It is really a good mix of teams and we have to find some new exciting talents for next year”, said the cricket PNG boss.
The tournament starts tomorrow, 5th of April and concludes on the 13th of April at Amini Park.
