Cricket Papua New Guinea has successfully concluded the two-day Middle Stump Highlands and Momase 2026 Regional Cricket Managers Conference in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province.

The conference was held at the National Sports Institute (NSI) on Monday and Tuesday this week.

The conference brought together Regional Cricket Managers from Jiwaka, Southern Highlands, Western Highlands, Eastern Highlands, Madang and Morobe to align development priorities, strengthen reporting systems and enhance grassroots delivery across the Highlands and Momase regions.

Cricket PNG representatives facilitated sessions focused on cricket fun games and skill-based learning, ICC data reporting systems, and practical strategies to grow participation at community and school levels.

Regional Cricket Manager for Southern Highlands Province, Lewis Kimbuna, shared his reflections following the completion of the conference.

“During the two days conference, I have fully enjoyed learning new cricket fun games and skills. I also learnt how to submit ICC data reporting system which was my focus. We aim for more cricket activities to be done in our region and I believe we can produce good cricket players in our respective region,” he said.

Kimbuna also confirmed that all Regional Cricket Managers present have now submitted their full 2025 Quarter 1 to Quarter 4 reports for their respective centers, reinforcing Cricket PNG’s commitment to accountability and accurate reporting standards.

“On behalf of Team Highlands Cricket Development Program, I would like to thank the CPNG Board and Management once again for the two (2) days Middle Stump Highlands & Momase Regional GD Conference to be hosted and successfully completed,” he added.

The successful completion of the Goroka conference marks the end of the second phase of Cricket PNG’s 2026 Regional Cricket Managers Conference series, following the earlier session held in Port Moresby in February.

Cricket PNG Operations Manager and conference lead, Rarua Dikana, acknowledged the strong commitment shown by the RCMs throughout the two-day conference, commending them for their active participation, professionalism and timely submission of their 2025 Quarter 1 to Quarter 4 reports.

He also extended appreciation to the National Sports Institute in Goroka for hosting the event, noting that such partnerships are important in strengthening governance, improving reporting standards and driving the sustainable growth of cricket across the Highlands and Momase regions.

Cricket PNG continues to prioritize structured planning, strong governance and practical development pathways to ensure the sustainable growth of cricket across all regions of PNG.
