HUNTERS claim fifth place on the Ladder after defeating Brisbane Tigers 46 to 24 in Round 22 of Queensland Host plus Cup at the Santos National Football in Port Moresby.
After the victory last Sunday against visiting Tweed Head Sea gulls 42 points to 30, the SP PNG Hunters have put up a spectacular footy in front of the packed home crown with a 46 to 24 defeat over Brisbane Tigers.
Hunters started well in the first half and held the visiting Tigers unbreathable by a dominant 28 nil at the half time.
Hunters returned and continued the outstanding performance as the crowds went up roaring, however lost their Momentum in the last 10 minutes towards the full time. This gave opportunity for the Visiting Tigers to capitalized and start scoring tries.
Hunters though have showed dominance in the first half, failed to maintain the momentum as Tigers capitalized on that to score, building their points up to a nearing 24 in the full time.
Few errors from Hunters have also gave advantage to the visiting Tigers.
Papua New Guinea Prime Minister also gave time to watch the game as the boys celebrate their victory in front of the 7,585 home crowd.
However, Hunters have claimed the fifth place in the Queensland Host plus Cup ladder with 46 to 24 defeat over Tigers.
