HUNTERS Head Coach Paul Aiton is standing firm with the pack as they prepare for the showdown this Sunday against Tweed Seagulls at the Santos National Football Stadium.
Hunters have three games remaining before the finals in the Queensland Rugby League Host plus cup Competition and it is the most important games for the Hunters to find where they sit in the final top eight ladder.
Hunters road to success has been disrupted by two consecutive loose, going down 66 to 8 against Sunshine Coast Falcons on July 21 and had another big loss again last weekend with 46 to 14 points against Redcliffe Dolphins.
Despite the disappointing result from the two games, Hunters are looking at getting two points this weekend. Coach Aiton said the Teed Seagulls are aiming for the two points as well and that will be an interesting match this weekend.
“They are the quality team and they have showed us that quality when we played them down there. We ready to welcome them here. We came in early and had an extra day training so we are expecting a good game here,” Aiton said.
Aiton said it is still possible that the hunters will bounce back to the top eight and it starts this weekend.
Aiton is looking at Jamie Mavoko as he awaits recovery from injury to slot in Sakias Komati’s space while looking at Joshua Mire for a potential placing in the lineup.
Judah Rim was given a day of as a recovery day for him as by Coach Aiton stating that he put himself in the line with more tackles every weekends and needs some rest.
The joy of playing in home has been a boost for the Hunters victory and so Coach Aiton has appealed to the fans to come along and support as they play the last remaining three games starting this Sunday.
