Hunters to face Wigman, Dabaris for trial

By GABRIEL KATUHO

THE Hunters are set to have their first internal trial next week Friday 7th of February 2025 with the Hela Wigman and Central Dabaris.

Hunters Assistant Coach Enock Maki made this known during the Hunters media session today.

“We are having our first internal trial next week in Port Moresby with the Hela Wigman and Central Dabaris,” he said.

Maki stated that the team to take on Hela Wigman and Central Dabaris for the trials will be made up of mostly new boys in the camp to see how they go.

The Assistant Coach was delighted after seeing the Hunters boys coping up with the trainings and making sure all the paces were done precisely throughout this week.

Seeing the progress Maki explained that the training today was shortened and they were focused on other drills.

According the Maki, all the boys are free and ready for the trial next week with no new injury cases reported.

Hunters coaches are eyeing several utility players to take up any role, however, the players remain under the scrutiny of the coaches as they assess them based on the trial matches.

“For the forwards, we have good number of boys so we are happy. Our spine, Josh Lau is out with young Felix not 100 percent fit.

“Sanny Wabo can play multiple positions which is very good. He can play fullback, half, and even dummy. He is so good,” Maki said.

He said Morea and other players can play other positions too but they will have to see how they go when Hunters have their second trials with the Central Queensland Campras.
