HUNTERS center Robert Mathias has returned to the squad and is ready for the ANZAC round this Saturday at the National Football Stadium (NFS).
“After my surgery I went back to zero and had to rebuild my strength and stamina to get to the level I was before,” said Mathias in an interview on Thursday.
He expressed gratitude towards the rehab team who helped him recover and is looking forward for his first ever ANZAC Round this weekend.
“Every game is tough, the intensity and everything, like I did not play in my desired position but I tried to adapt to each position given to me,” Mathias said.
Mathias’s challenge was adapting to the new positions and trying to perfect it as much as possible to make the game flow.
“Playing at second row requires a lot of skills and I am trying my best to work hard in training get my self-used to it.
“This is my first time to play the ANZAC Round and I am thrilled to honor the sacrifice of our forefathers during World War I and II,” he said.
