Dr. James Naipao has been re-elected as the President of Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL) at the third Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday, 28th of January 2025.
He was re-elected unopposed together with other board members for a period of three years starting this year (2025).
The new POMRFL Board include: President Dr. James Naipao, Senior Vice President Yako Minaro, Secretary Iru Mai and Treasurer Killion Nagan
The AGM was witnessed by the Director for PNGRFL, Southern Confederate Mr. Jacob Ivaroa, Community Pathway and Competition Manager representing PNGRFL Mr. Saku Ank, club presidents and representatives.
Dr. Naipao said the meeting was supposed to be held on the 19th of November 2024 but it did not eventuate due to no quorum.
He said it was deferred to 19th January 2025 to be facilitated by the PNGRFL Southern Confederate; however, it failed again due to no quorum.
Dr. Naipo said yesterday, (28th January) a quorum of 16 met at the AGM to facilitate the election.
The AGM was conducted where the incumbent and re-elected POMRFL president Dr. James Naipao presented the report for year 2024 to each club president and representative.
Following the Naipao’s presentation, the election was conducted to formalize the POMRFL board.
With the new Board being elected, Dr. Naipao pledged to work in solidarity and maintaining team work to enhance proficiency and progress in POMRFL.
Clubs that attended the AGM were; West RLC, Butterflies RLC, Magani RLC, Kone Tigers RLC, Paga Panthers RLC, Holola Flies, Tarangau RLC, Royals RLC, and Defense RLC.
Three clubs that did not attend included; Dobo Warriors RLC, Kone Storms RLC, and Hawks RLC.
