The race to represent Papua New Guinea in the Melanesian Cup basketball championships later this month began today at the Taurama Aquatics and Indoor Centre in Port Moresby.
Today’s session kicked off with High Performance Testing, including the T Test and Yoyo Test, pushing athletes to their physical and mental limits.
After a well-earned lunch break, players returned to the court for tactical drills and team chemistry evaluations.

This four-day trial will determine the final squad to wear PNG’s colors at the 2025 FIBA Melanesian Cup, a crucial qualifier for the 2027 Pacific Games.
The FIBA Melanesian Cup will be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands, from September 13-18, 2025.
