Rigo Rice Cup launched

RIGO Rice chief executive officer MacSteve Polly has reassured the participating team that K200 thousand is up on the table for the winner of the inaugural Rigo Rice Cup.

At the launching of the Rigo Rice Cup tournament at the Hubert Murray Stadium today Mr. Polly said this prize money is for the first time compared to other competitions hosted in the country.

Rigo Rice Managing Director Jeffery Kennedy welcomed the participating teams stating that Rigo Rice is pleased to have given the prize money.

He also welcomed teams that want to register to come forward before the closing date. The registration per team is K2500 for a chance to win K200 thousand.

As the Papua New Guinea’s locally grown and manufactured rice Rigo Rice is proud to support the inaugural Cup competition to pave way for the youths to showcase their talent in the competition.

Rigo Rice stands as the biggest grassroots games every hosted in the history of Papua New Guinea with the highest cash prize of K200 000.

Mr. Jeffery Kennedy is looking at raising the bar ever further aiming at K500 000 going forward.

Mr Kennedy has presented K500 000 as the Main sponsorship of the competition.
Launching is under way at the Huberth Murray Stadium with representatives of the participating teams and community members of Kone area given free entry to join the celebration.

Moresby Northwest Member Lohia Boe Samuel also helped the competition with K200 000 to fuel the competition to foster a healthy hub for the young youths to participate.

The Rigo Rice Cup competition stands as the hub to breed local raw talents and develop them to become as future sports talents of Papua New Guinea.
