KROTON Hela Wigmen is counting on days for a do or die clash with Enga Mioks this weekend to secure a grand final spot.
At the end of the regular season, the Hela Wigmen were able to make a late shift into the top six after coming off the field on top of the Moni Plus NCDC POM Vipers earning their most needed chance.
Wigmen’s confidence grew after they made a remarkable shift into finals play-off, which kept their game spirit growing.
They advanced in its first preliminary game against the East New Britain Agmark Gurias defeating them with a score of 22 points to 14.
The mighty Wigmen were again able to snatch a win in a minor semi-final playoff against the Lae Snax Tigers yesterday (Sunday) at the Santos National Football Stadium.
It was great finish from the Hela Wigmen who sent the Tigers out of the season 2024 with a 32 to 12 high score line victory.
Again Wigmen hooker and game breaker, Woods Kawage, was declared the man-of-match after yesterday’s game.
Kawage, who got man of the match award from the previous week’s match against the Agmark Gurias was able to continue his style of footy in front of the cheering supporters.
Wigmen coach Ian Yaro, told media that, Woods is a weapon in their game attack and he is counting on him and a few other familiar names to raise the bar in the upcoming do or die match with Mioks.
