STEAMSHIPS Trading Limited has joined the World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF) 2023 as platinum sponsor through its hospitality division, Coral Sea Hotels.
The sponsorship of K300,000 accords the Coral Sea Hotels chain rights as the preferred hotel partner for forum.
Under the sponsorship package, Coral Sea Hotels will offer a 50% discount for delegates who stay with them.
International Trade and Investment Minister Richard Maru thanked Steamships for their support.
“This will make it cheaper and more affordable for both our delegates and the international delegates who will be coming to Port Moresby to attend the forum,” he said.
“We are grateful that Steamships, who have been in PNG for over 100 years, has made such a significant contribution to support the indigenous business sector of Papua New Guinea.
“We are grateful for Steamships’ support, and we hope more corporate businesses come on board as sponsors as we look forward to hosting the World Indigenous Business Forum from Oct 24-26.”
Steamships Ltd, in a statement, said with its heritage deeply rooted in PNG’s history and economy, it is honoured and excited to support an event that aligns perfectly with its values of community engagement, cultural preservation, and sustainable development.
“Our commitment to the WIBF, and more broadly to the indigenous communities globally, goes beyond mere sponsorship,” Rubert Bray, Managing Director of Steamships Ltd, said.
“It is a testament to our belief in celebrating the PNG cultures and traditions.
“Through our Coral Sea Hotels chain, we aim to showcase the very best of Papua New Guinea hospitality at the forum.
“We believe that our esteemed guests will appreciate the warm welcome, luxurious settings, and rich cultural experiences we have to offer.”
