PNG Kumuls squad have been boosted following the inclusion of their England based players ahead of their Pacific Championship clash against Fiji Bati on Sunday October 29.

The game will kick off at 3pm at the National Football Stadium Port Moresby.

Edwin Ipape, McKenzie Yei, Albert Wallington and Rhyse Martin are the new addition to the already existing pool of talent that beat Cook Island Aitu in their tournament opener last weekend.

The boys from England already joined the training camp today with high spirit to prepare to face the Batis who also beat an improved Cook Island side with 22-18 points.

PNG international and Leopards hooker Edwin Ipape said it feels good to be back home and working with the young boys that have made their way up to putting on Kumul jumper.

“I’m just happy to be back home and be in the camp with the boys,” he said.

“Fiji, they always give us a good challenge and we got a good bunch of boys here who are really reliable.

“So, we are going to have a good camp leading up to the big game on Sunday and get good result as much as we can.

“I am a payer but I am also a very big fan of this game and seeing boys getting opportunity to play in the Kumuls is what we want to see,” Ipape expressed.

Despite having played for PNG couple of times he (Ipape) is just like any other player in the camp that need to learn from each other.

“If they come up to me and ask me for advice I’ll be happy to give them something I have learnt.

“Not saying that I am most experience but if I need something I can go to them and learn something from them.

“It’s great to see new faces in the team.”
