Tomuriesa calls for change amidst national challenges

AS Parliament is set to resume on September 12, Opposition Leader Hon. Douglas Tomuriesa and his team are rallying for change, driven by their recently introduced policies.

“We will now manage the Vote of No Confidence (VoNC) process. It’s an ongoing effort, and as a team, we will handle the VoNC going forward to next Thursday,” Tomuriesa stated.

He urged members of the government to join the opposition in their efforts to bring about change. “I encourage our friends on the other side of the Government to join us. Together, we can change this government and do things the right way,” he added.

Tomuriesa said that the opposition is committed to addressing the serious challenges currently facing the country.

“The country is in turmoil; it’s struggling,” he said, noting that rising prices in shops continue to affect citizens despite government promises to ease inflation through various measures.

He called on other members of Parliament to recognize the opposition’s work and consider switching sides for better cooperation and unity.

“Don’t worry about missing out on DSIP, PIP, or project funds. When you join us, we will adhere to the budget and do things correctly,” Tomuriesa said.

Tomuriesa said that the opposition recently launched its alternate policies aimed at fixing the country’s issues.

He outlined that if they assume government control, their first 100 days would focus on implementing a recovery plan for the nation.

He stressed the urgency of their mission and appealed to fellow leaders to open their eyes to the real issues on the ground and listen to the public’s pleas.
