PAPA GRAUN MUSIC FESTIVAL YET TO PAY ARTISTS

Local Music Artists who performed at the annual Papa Graun Music Festival in Port Moresby on September are yet to be paid by the host organising committees.

This concern was made public through a viral social media post by current trending PNG Music artist Ragga Siai.

Ragga Siai, who took airwaves of the PNG Music through his hit song ‘Maria’ was disappointed and demanded the Papa Graun Music Festival Committees to complete payments as many artists who performed never received their payments yet.

“I demand the Papa Graun Annual Music Festival Committees to make our payments as it has taken more than one month,” explained Ragga Siai in a statement.

Ragga confirmed that the entire musical artists who performed didn’t receive their payments yet, and are awaiting the host organising committees to address this issue before further actions are taken.

Ragga also mentioned Norwegian Pop band ‘Naked Koala’ who also performed at this year’s edition of the music fest at Sir. Hubert Murray Stadium in Port Moresby, saying;

“This is how big organisations in PNG treat their local celibrities, you didn’t see this side.”

The affected musicians and musical artists have brought this issue to the mainstream media and they await a response from the organising committees of the Papa Gran Annual Music Festival.
