PNG ATSA CONVENTION’S WATER PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION

THE water project at the PNG ATSA convention site is nearly completed and hopeful to be used by students and convention delegates during the 20th Biennial convention.

According to the Convention committee, this is one of the several projects they aim to establish at Oro Province as part of their community engagement service there.

“There is need for proper, clean drinking water, which PNG ATSA with the help of Oro Adventist Student Association are currently working at ground to ensure this project is in progress and completed for the students to use during the conventions and at the same it remains a contribution to the school and community,” President Remedy Amevo told Sunday Bulletin.

The convention is expected to expect a huge number of delegates to attend with the increasing involvement and engagement-taking place in each of the existing Adventist Student ministry at the tertiary institutions.

Reports received from the General Secretary of the PNG ATSA reveal about 700 to 800 delegates have registered for the convention and they, expecting to see the number rise as they get closer to the deadline of registration.

Besides registered delegates from within the country, there are seven international students from the Solomon Islands who have shown interest and will be attending the convention along with two international guests: Dr. Nick Cross from Australia and Dr. Jiwan Moon which will be coming all the way from America.

The President and the team are in close communication with the team on ground and are up to their feet to iron out necessary logistics and arrangements in terms of preparation so that they meet their deadline before pre-convention and convention kicks off.

He empathized on the importance of the convention alluding to the duty to serve humanity in communities as well bringing unity through the largest student movement in the country.

“Every decision to attend the convention has one purpose of fulfilling God’s mission and serving others and everyone has a special task to contribute,” he explained

“We come together as one body in Christ, to celebrate the goodness of the Lord and the impacts to each of life.”
