MAMA Bank, a well-known charitable organization, has donated items to the Port Moresby General Hospital last Friday.
The items were donated to the cancer ward (ward 1E) and the labor ward (ward 11, Post Natal Ward).
The donation includes much needed items such as medical supplies, baby essentials and comfort items for patients undergoing treatment.
Ward 1E under the management of Sister Lucy Auda, which provides critical care to cancer patients receives supplies and supportive care items to help ease the burden of treatment.
Ward 11, the labor ward under the management of Sister Rachael Budari receives baby clothes, diapers and other necessities for newborns and their mothers.
Human Resource Manager for Mama Bank, Bonnie Simeon said: “We present 10 boxes divine tablets mainly for the cancer patients.”
The Director for Mama Bank, Aleena Bird said: “It was stated in one of the articles that the babies couldn’t get the treatment because they couldn’t afford the treatment, we came up with an idea to ask for funds to support them.”
Sister Lucy Auda and Rachael Budari expressed their gratitude for the donation stating that the items will greatly assist in providing quality care to cancer patients and the mothers and babies in labor ward.
The donation from Mama Bank highlights the organization’s commitment to supporting healthcare institutions and improving the well-being of patients in need.
The Port Moresby General Hospital is thankful for the donation and looks forward to continuing their partnership with Mama Bank in the future.
