The SP PNG Hunters are working on small things ahead of weekend’s game against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.

Assistant coach Enoch Marky spoke to the media today highlighting training progress of the pack before they head down to Brisbane to meet the Wynnum Manly Seagulls for the second last round of the season.

Working alongside Aiton, Marky said they are working on getting the small things done before the weekend’s game.

While reflecting on round 21 match against South Logan Magpies, Marky outline several errors that nearly cost the game in the second half when Magpies started coming back in the second half.

“First half we played really well. First 20 minutes of the second half was okay but another 20 minutes going towards the end we dropped a little bit and Magpies came hard. Fortunately, we won the game,” Marky said.

The Hunters have put up an outstanding display of footy during the last home game on Sunday 17th of August 2025, at the Santos National Football Stadium by scoring a total of nine tries which includes four tries from winger Solo Wane and a double from Forward Manisa Kai.

“The preparation for this week is good. We have emphasized on defense and on the mental side since Monday,” he said.

Seal Kalo suffered from Head Injury Assessment during round 21 game against the South Logan Magpies so he will miss out on this weekend’s game while Finley Glare is being included in the lineup.

Finley Glare was supposed to play last weekend fell ill in the last minute and Khaiya Waiembi was called in from the 18th man. According the Marky, he (Finley) is good and will travel, with the boys.

“This week we are working on ourselves, building the energy and getting the little things in order. We are working on our defense which in most games we fail to keep up with our defense,” he said.

Marky acknowledged the old boys who showed up on the weekend to show their support and encouragements which have generated enough energy for the pact to use.

With the high energy level in camp, Hunters are now standing strong to take the two remaining games on a high note, starting with Wynnum Manly Seagulls this Saturday.
